On Saturday, November 15th of 2008, I received a phone call that still seems a bit surreal.
Holding a telephone in his hand over 1600 miles away, my 49-year old father delivered the news that his chiropractor had discovered a tumor on his spine. Only four days later, Amanda, Ryland, and I were driving the 24-hour drive to Zale Lipshy Hospital in Dallas, Texas to be with dad (even if only for a moment) before his surgeon removed 90-95% of the tumor that was causing him so much pain and discomfort.
The Lord has been more than faithful during our journey… and this is no exception.
My dad, Kevin Weaver, has been training for and running marathons for the past three years… and he has begun blogging the steps of his current marathon-fight against cancer. This is the best place for following his thoughts, emotions, and updates… http://www.kevinsmarathon.blogspot.com/
Thanks for your prayers… thanks for your encouragement… thanks for supporting my Pops…
