I have never been a huge supporter of the “new resolution movement” that begins each first of January across our great nation… that is… until the Lord moved me to deliver a message on resolving to the Church @ Allen in our three Sunday worship services on December 30th of last year. So…
- In 2008, I resolved to spend more time weekly in focused writing (journaling, sermoneering, authoring, blogging, etc).
- In 2009, I am resolving to read 12 soul-shaping books (at least one per month, not including the B-I-B-L-E)… to be active, creative, and intentional in my communication with the Lord (I know this sounds like some ambiguous and random confession but I promise to deliver some specifics on this soon)… and to continue my writing resolution from 2008.
What are some of your new resolutions for the year 2009?

.: For further investigation…
Mark Matlock (founder of Planet Wisdom) posted a great blog on the non-wisdom of “fuzzy resolutions” that you should take some time to read… and Mark Batterson (founder of National Community Church in D.C.) wrote a blog about the process of creating and keeping your resolutions that is deeply thought-provoking.

Resolutions.
Keeping up with a daily journal
To find what God wants me to do
To stay out of the theatre for at least 1 semester.
To figure out what gifts God wants me to use.
