First… Thank you for dedicating yourself to this endeavor. The most important thing that anyone can do for Remedy Church is pray… you are the heartbeat of Remedy Church.

Second… The Lord is already at work answering our prayers!!!  Below is a story from Remedy Church’s Pastor, Ryan, to illustrate the amazing ways the Lord has already been answering YOUR prayers.

On Wednesday morning, I awakened with an amazing burden for the long (and growing) list of items that we need for our first Remedy Church preview service at the Regal Cinema on September the 27th (see a portion of the “list” below). We will be hosting our first preview service on the 27th, but we have also graciously been allowed access to the theater for a couple of hours on Sunday the 20th to work through the logistics of setup and breakdown of our equipment.

Among the many items, I was especially burdened about a drum set for our worship team. I know this may sound like a small item, but decent drum kits (even used) can cost upwards of $1,000. We have two guys at Remedy Church who are solid drummers… but no drum set. Amanda and I began sending out text messages and making phone calls to anyone that the Lord placed on our hearts who might be able to help us with this. By the afternoon, I followed up on a couple of leads that were very generous offers, but still costly. On my drive back home, I made a stop at the Regal Cinema to park and pray in front of the theater.

I was broken. I was frustrated. The “list” was chasing me. I had retreated from living in the Lord’s victory, and into my own discouragement.

While sitting in front of the theater, I spent quite some time praying through the “list”. And I spent some time struggling through my lack of faith. The doubts I was feeling were not related to my Call to serve God, my Call to plant Remedy Church in Salisbury, or even the amazing door that God had opened for us to worship at the Regal 16. My doubts were wrapped up in thoughts about church models, financial support, church marketing, and this daunting “list”. Then I called a friend and mentor (Jeff Woodard) to talk and pray through my frustrations and doubts. How would Remedy Church ever afford worshipping in this space with less than $2,000 in our Remedy Church account (barely enough to pay for three of our four preview services at the Regal 16)? How would I pastor this infant church to trust the Lord, when I was struggling in that moment to even trust Him to provide our simple needs, like a drum set?

While talking and praying with Jeff, he said a few things that got my head screwed back on straight… and my heart back at rest in God’s promises. One of the things that really hit me was this statement: “We who are experiencing God have no model to follow… We follow the architect.”

Before I pulled away from the Regal 16, I decided AGAIN that this is how I would pastor and lead Remedy Church to pray. There is no perfect model for a perfect church. There are no perfect prayers to pray. There is no precedent to follow if this is truly a new work that the Lord is doing. I had no doubt that God’s Plan was at work… and I was re-dedicated to living with this faith as my fuel. When I awakened on Thursday, the “list” was still waiting… but I was confident that the Lord would provide if that was His Plan. Sure enough, in one of my meetings yesterday afternoon, a friend and co-pastor from a local church asked, “How can we help Remedy Church?” I mentioned that we had a pretty long list… but that I was very especially burdened about a drum set. His response (roughly 24 hours after my time of prayer in front of the Regal 16) was, “We have a drum set for you. What else?”

How phenomenal is that? How faithful is our God when we choose to pray believing? And while Remedy Church still has so many hurdles to overcome… The Lord is continually proving Himself as consistent with His own character: FAITHFUL.

The Truth of His Call is still at work. Even as Romans 11:29 says, “God never changes his mind about the people he calls and the things he gives them.” The Lord finances His own endeavors. We know that God has placed His blessing and His Call upon Remedy Church to launch in the Regal 16. We know that He has Called us to reach young families and single adults in the Salisbury area. We know that He will provide. And we trust that He will meet our needs in His timing. He knows Remedy Church’s every need… And he knows your every need.

And while our “list” at Remedy Church is still very long… please do not miss the fact that God is NOT on some mission to simply fill our lists and fulfill our desires…
HE IS ON A MISSION TO REDEEM THE WORLD.

We are not the REMEDY for a hurting world… HE IS.

Third… Pray that the Lord would provide ALL of these necessary items by September the 20th…

+ Remedy Church Bibles…
– There will be many people who visit Remedy Church’s preview services who do not have Bibles. We have a specific Bible that we are planning to provide people who are seeking at Remedy Church. If you would like to help us provide copies of God’s Word to people at Remedy, please contact Ryan at weaver@remedychurch.me

+ Remedy Church Welcoming Ministry…
– 2-4 rectangle folding tables (these are needed for child registration, information distribution, and refreshments)

+Remedy Church Kid’s Ministry…
– 2 Pack and Play portable playpens for babies (we already have TWO babies who will be in attendance on the 27th)
- Baby changing station (should be created for counter-top use)
- Age-appropriate baby and toddler toys
- Flat-screen tv/dvd combo for dvd-based teaching curriculum

+ Remedy Church Worship Ministry…
– Projector (this is a huge need… We can use the theater projectors for a mall fee of FIVE-HUNDRED DOLLARS a WEEK… So Instead of throwing our small amount of money at an over-priced, rented projector… We need to purchase our own)
- Microphone stands (four are needed… Stacking style of stands are preferrable)
- Music stands (we can get by with two but four would be nice)
