May the 9th marks my first anniversary for my pedaling hobby (aka: border-line obsession to ride and get back in shape). I have loved pedaling with Amanda (there’s not much that is more fun than a casual ride around the city with my bride)… and strengthening my friendship with my training partner Ryan Jackson (who’s an intense pedaler… and youth pastor in Delaware). Many of my other rides have been solo… and those rides have been some of my favorite. I love pedaling the country roads on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and Delaware. It’s great exercise, but it’s also a great way to connect with my Savior while I pedal. There is no doubt in my mind that I will be pedaling for the rest of my life. Good stuff.

At the turn of the new year, I posted some of my pedaling stats for 2008. Here are some stats for this year since I purchased my road bike

Over the past year…

  • I have pedaled a grand total of 1013.33954304 kilometers (629.66 miles).
  • My max speed in the saddle was 50.85 kilometers per hour (31.6 mph) on January 9th in Laurel, DE.
  • I logged 17 rides over 24.14016 kilometers (15 miles).
  • My longest continuous ride was 58.419187199999996 kilometers (36.3 miles) on May 7th. My second longest ride was 56.890310400000004 kilometers (35.35 miles) on June 2nd.

Wow! Excellent job! Thanks for sharing this with us. I’m really pleased to see that you’re using the metric system!

Oh yeah, and good work with the whole bike riding thing too.
