Just gotta state this confession for the record, the most annoying word in the English language:

chillaxing

I don’t have issues with very many words… but this smash-up of “chilling” and “relaxing” is forced and just-friggin-annoying. Also… I don’t have an issue with any of my peeps who choose  to pepper their language with such a crappily-formed and unrelentlessly-annoying word… so keep it flowing.

Yep. That’s all I’ve got.

I feel better. Thanks for listening.

I must say, I’ve not yet heard that word–of which I am glad. Hopefully it’s not yet dignified with inclusion into the OED.

While not a grammar Nazi, I generally am against bastardizing our wonderful English language with neologisms like this when there are already plenty of good words already around that we can use without making stuff up by mashing together related terms (whoever came up with “ginourmous”, this means you). I am perfectly willing to tolerate the new word; I just hope it doesn’t gain currency in formal writing and speaking.
