Just finished reading the short story by Ernest Hemingway called “Hills Like White Elephants“. I read it on recommendation from Landon, while sitting beside my lovely bride at Viva Espresso.
Not an easy read but but very interesting stuff. Great story. Awesome imagery.
I love reading great writing and then discussing the underlying meaning and the unwritten implications. My wife had some excellent insight about the woman’s decision and the “elephant in the room”… but I’ll let her share her thoughts.

To me, the “Hills Like White Elephants” really points out the total banality of hedonism; the two main characters both seem really empty, albeit in different ways.
